MONSTROSITY

A vampire larp of erotic horror

Atlantic City

Oct 30 - Nov 1

Nov 2 - 4

Nov 6 - 8

Anchor 1

A larp where you can do anything.

A design to protect you while you do.

A story about the monster you can become and the humanity you’ve yet to discover.

Applications are closed, but if you were invited, feel free to apply for our waitlist.

The vampire is a solitary predator, who was once human; a monster who remembers the social animal it used to be. There is a question of whether their cruelty is born out of boredom, hunger, or just the memory of what it was like to be alive. However, we know one thing about vampires: they must feed.

The human is a social animal, and also a predator; they prey upon both other species and their own. Whether their lives have meaning - either innate or of their own device - is a matter of debate. A little-known fact about humans is that each has within them the makings of a monster.

Monstrosity is three-day live action role-play experience that offers you the freedom to play a true monster as realistically as you like, using advanced risk controls to protect you and the other participants. Our "tools, not rules" philosophy empowers you to play as you wish, while our emphasis on active and continuous consent promotes respect and communication amongst all participants. The result is a vampire larp like no other - tell your bloody and erotic story in an environment of trust and mutual respect.

Applying To Monstrosity

Applications for Monstrosity open February 18 and close March 14. After applications close, we'll notify you by email within 72 hours if you have been accepted into the cast. If you miss the application window, you can still apply to the waitlist.

Applying for Monstrosity requires a bit more than other larps: you can't see our invitation without a password. We use a process we call Invited, Accepted, Partnered to cast the larp.

Monstrosity is invite-only - you have to know someone to apply. While you’ll be able to read most of the website, we keep some information private, including access to the Application. Before you apply, someone has to invite you to play by giving you the password. Anyone who has the password can give it to you, and if you have it, the only thing we ask is that you don’t share it with multiple people at once.

Invited

Once someone invites you to play Monstrosity, you can fill out the application. The application makes sure you understand the risks involved in Monstrosity and lets you tell us why you want to play. You can apply with a partner or individually, however, if you’re accepted as an individual, you must find a partner prior to play. Regardless, once accepted, we consider you a participant, and look forward to you joining us.

Once you have the password, you can fill out the application here.

Accepted

Before you play, you need a partner: either someone to play the vampire to your human, or the human to your vampire. The primary reason you need a partner is for the sake of the story, however, there are a few more reasons we make you find a partner before play (and a couple of things that you shouldn't expect from your partner). Remember, Monstrosity is about the entire cast, and not individual pairs.

Learn more about Partner Play in Monstrosity.

Partnered

If you're accepted, we’ll send you the full cast list. If you have any questions or concerns about other participants, you’ll have the chance to talk to the Participant Advocate, who’s there to address those concerns and answer those questions in a manner that supports you as an individual. Even if you’re accepted and partnered, we still reserve the right to refuse service at any time, for any reason.
